ATEO, in partnership with Living Heritage Game Fairs, will be running certificated pest control courses on site from “The Shooting Village” venue on the day after each game fair. The cost will be £150 and can be booked prior to the
show or at the show. You will need to bring a packed lunch but drinks can be provided. If you are bringing your own gun, it needs to be fit for purpose and carried in a gun box or bag. You will be issued with a numbered permit to enter
the site and can park near the venue.
This one day course is informal but intensive, though flexible round the participants’ requirements and will fully cover air gun safety; rifle choice; use of scopes; the legal aspects; paper work requirements; members of the public; Risk Assessment; ballistics & pellet choices; Wildlife and Countryside Act and animal welfare with a section at the end for personal gun fit, chronograph report and practice (bring your own air rifle with you if you want to tailor the gun fit and practice). Suitable for bird and mammal control. A Certificate is sent to you after the completion of the course. The course can be tailored to specific vermin control if required.
The day will consist of a classroom type, relaxed session in the morning covering the parts of the curriculum you are required to know after an informal meet and greet session, allowing us to tailor to the group’s individual experiences. After a light lunch break and recap of the morning session, a more practical session involving site specific risk assessment and safety followed by gun fit, scope usage and practice at varying distances.
