The Fine Food Halls
The halls host a wide range of food and drink, cheeses, wines, real ales, meats, pastries, cakes, cider and Mediterranean fare from regional and national producers and retailers. This has become very popular with visitors as they can sample and buy a whole range of local and regional artisan products. With a taste before you buy approach, you will definitely find something here that you want to take home with you!
The Country Kitchen
This is a wonderfully rustic cookery demonstration area where chefs talk about and demonstrate how to cook a wide selection of dishes. Most are at the top of their profession and have been specially selected for their obvious culinary skills. Featured this year are:
- Crabstock boys – tales of the sea and how to make the most of her produce
- Mark Lloyd – Instantly recognisable from is many TV appearances, Mark is a popular and entertaining chef, specialising in fresh food and quality ingredients.
- Charles Jardine – also demonstrating how to catch fish in the Angling Village, here he shows us how to cook them
- Simon Whitehead – Simon will be both demonstrating his work with ferrets in the Countryside arena, but will then be coming over to the Country Kitchen with a fascinating demonstration on how to cook rabbit. He will also be promoting his new book on the same subject.
Hungry on the day? The Piazza is a truly international food experience – buy, eat and enjoy: from Thai noodles to the good old British hotdog! This is a relaxed area of the showground where you can eat, drink, and watch the world go by!
Real Ales and Ciders
A variety of real ales from local breweries at our very own Stagger Inn bar. Also a selection of real ciders from British small producers. Great atmosphere and the usual wines and soft drinks as well.
